Potomac Hadracha Shabbaton
By: Adam Drexler | Rosh Snif, Potomac
This past Shabbat, Bnei Akiva Potomac had a wonderful Hadracha Shabbaton. We started off Friday night with an inspirational Ted Talk about teaching the madrichim the importance of building relationships with chanichim. We ate dinner at the rabbis house, and had a powerful Shira session with tons of ruach. After dinner, we sat in a circle and had the chance to bond, sharing about ourselves with the group.
On Saturday we went to services, and then we had a session of more madrichim bonding. We played games together, and it was a lot of fun. We went to lunch, and after lunch we had a learning session, which taught us the importance of associating past experiences to words used in daily life. Next was menucha, followed by a couple more leaning sessions, in which we really dived into what it means to be a madrich, and the responsibilities that come with it. To end Shabbat, we went to Mincha and maariv, did havdalah, and had a little pizza party. Overall, it was a Shabbat full of laughter and fun, and we learned a lot about Bnei Akiva and the role of a madrich.
