top Hesder Program
Our Hesder program begins with twelve days of riveting learning. In recent years, boys learned in Yeshivat Har Etzion (Gush) and girls at Migdal Oz. Following the learning period, all participants join together for the touring portion of their trip.
You will experience Torat Eretz Yisrael both inside and outside of the Beit Midrash. The learning and touring compliment each other, giving participants a well rounded appreciation of Am Yisrael, Eretz Yisrael and Torat Yisrael. With a Tanach in hand as they tour Israel, participants bring the Torah they learned in the Beit Midrash to life!
Learning Lishma-Learning Torah by choice, without any tests, is an inspirational experience. Grow and develop a deeper love of Torah from this unique learning opportunity. Learn bechevruta with each other as well as with madrichim, and hear Shiurim from outstanding Torah scholars.
Tiyulim- The Yeshiva component also includes afternoon hikes in the surrounding area. Seeing the places our forefathers walked, and where Yehoshua’s army fought allows you to encounter Tanach more directly. This experiential learning of Tanach can only take place in Israel.
Mach Hach Adventure
All Mach HachAdventure groups enjoy four and a half weeks of touring and one specialty week chosen before the summer. The specialty week options include: Chessed, Gadna, Wilderness and Yam L’Yam. As an innovation from past years, bus members will be reassigned for their specialty week. Hence, you can request any other Mach Hach Adventure participant to be on your bus.
Gadna-The army wants you! At least, for one week. Take part in a rigorous week of army training. Wear the Madim (uniform) of the IDF and be trained by real Mefakdim (officers). The training will push you physically and mentally, and leave you with a true sense of accomplishment upon completing the course.
Chessed- Are you looking to give back to Israel, and help its neediest? For one intensive week, the Chessed track will be set up with 2-3 projects each day. In just one day you might pick cucumbers for the hungry in the morning, paint a house in the afternoon and be a medical clown in the evening. Come to appreciate the wide array of Chessed opportunities in Israel while working hand in- hand with Israelis.
Wilderness - Leave your Blackberries at home and experience the rugged beauty of the seemingly endless Negev desert. Sleep under the clear Negev skies while appreciating a crisp desert breeze. Hike for days without encountering cars, buildings or roads. For those who love hiking and nature, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity.
Yam L’Yam- Take part in one of Israel’s most popular hikes, crossing the width of Israel from the Kinneret to the Mediterranean Sea and culminating with a thrilling five mile bike ride. See the lush greenery of the Galil, while challenging yourself on demanding trails. Enjoy the camaraderie of your fellow hikers and finish triumphantly, having literally hiked across Israel!
MADA
Interested in giving to Israel while learning valuable life skills? Looking for a college résumé builder, while still getting the full Israel experience? Then Mach Hach’s Magen David Adom (MADA) program is for you! Two weeks in the middle of this five week trip will be centered in Jerusalem and focus on medicine in Israel. The other three weeks will consist of a classic Mach Hach itinerary.
MADA Course -Participants will take part in an intensive nine day, sixty-hour course. The course is taught in English by MADA certified instructors. The training course covers basic material ranging from bandaging a simple wound to CPR and mass-casualty incidents. Following successful completion of the course, participants are certified as first responders.
Volunteer Opportunities - After finishing the course work, you will be assigned a volunteer position, including working in hospitals, first aid clinics and doctors’ offices. The positions offer firsthand experience of the medical material covered in your course and direct interaction with Israeli society, and its medical system.
Medicine in Israel
During the other three weeks, you will have the opportunity to see the most significant sites on our itinerary. While the touring portion includes all the fun and excitement of other Mach Hach groups, there is a medical accent to this part of the trip as well. Hearing from guest speakers, visiting medical institutions and learning the stories of Israel s medical heroes all help immerse you in this exciting field. In this way, there is a true interplay between training and touring.
Euro Mach Hach
We are very excited to announce the addition of a European option for Mach Hach BaAretz. Come and tour the cities of Venice (Italy), Vienna (Austria), and Prague (Czech Republic) on your way to arriving in Eretz Yisrael. See the classic architecture, art and history unique to Europe. Tour the significant Jewish sites and learn the history and culture of the Jews of Europe.
The European part of the trip will take place over the first eight days of Mach Hach and will include a Shabbat in Venice. The combination of touring Europe and then visiting our homeland, is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity.
