Camp Moshava Ba'ir Toronto - FAQsUpdated: 4/1/2010
Where will the camp be located? What age children is the camp for? NEW THIS SUMMER - Grade 6 program Children going into grade 6 have a unique opportunity to come to MBT this summer either for a 6 week program or session 3 & 4 (July30-Aug 17). Campers in this program will do all regular activities PLUS have bigger weekly trips, will help run Tochniot (activities) for the younger campers & will have a special 3 day overnight at Moshava Ennimsore! What about swimming? This summer, our excellent swim program will take place at Northview Heights Secondary High School, located a couple of minutes away from camp at 550 Finch Ave West!
The swim program will be facilitated by experienced Toronto Parks and Rec instructors and lifeguards. The program includes a well-rounded combination of 3 instructional sessions and 1 free swim session a week, and swimming report cards will be given out at the end of each two week session. How are the campers organized? How old are the counselors? Are they trained? We run a week of intensive counselor training in advance of the summer, as well as regular follow up workshops over the course of the summer. We take great pride in our staff! Will you be taking trips? Moshava Ba'ir features action-packed schedules, including baseball, basketball, soccer, tennis, hockey, and more. Our flexible scheduling allows us to offer sports-heavy schedules to bunks that prefer sports and alternatives such as dance, theater, music, and arts and crafts for those with interests in other directions. In addition, for our older campers we offer a daily chug, or elective period, in which each camper can pick his or her preferred activity. What are the facilities like? Will the camp be nut free? Tell me about your education program At Moshava Ba'ir, we believe deeply in the unique Bnei Akiva brand of camping as a learning and growing experience. One important manifestation of this is the camp "Tochnit" or educational program. Throughout the summer, our endlessly creative staff employ art, music, dance, and theater to re-create and re-experience powerful moments and places of our history. Tell me about safety.
Our number one priority at Moshava Ba'ir is always the safety and security of your children. We are staffed by full-time security guards. In addition to the experienced camp professionals running the program and the many staff with CPR and First Aid training, we have a full-time nurse on staff for the summer. What is tuition? Are you hiring? How does your camper application process work? Applicants are accepted on a first come, first served basis. You can download an application from our website and send it in to our office with a deposit check to apply. Email: mbt@bneiakiva.org
