Chevraya Aleph Dargot
For many years, Bnei Akiva had a system of levels called dargot (levels), much like the badge system in the Scouts. To pass a darga, a chaver or chavera had to take a written test which ensured that they had the necessary knowledge to move on to the next level. Chaverim were tested on their knowledge of chagim, brachot, figure in Religious Zionism, Hebrew, Bnei Akiva, Israeli history and geography, the ins and outs of kibbutz, and scouting skills, like knot-making and tent-building. The dargot system is no longer in use in Bnei Akiva of the US and Canada, but it's interesting to see what what thought to be the most basic knowledge a chaver Bnei Akiva is supposed to have.
